At ELEVATE WATER POLO we are passionate about elevating the game of water polo. Our mission is to grow and improve water polo by making fundamental skills development and competing on the international stage more accessible to players and coaches.

Our coaching programme is specifically designed by professionals who have coached and competed at the highest levels in the game, including the Olympics and World Championships. The dynamic programme is a combination of in-person, virtual and online skills development. Collectively the team at Elevate Water Polo brings decades of coaching experience and our ultimate goal is to ramp up the opportunities for players and coaches and to see South Africa operating closer to its potential in the global game.

High Performance training camps in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.

These camps are the start of the journey to be selected for international tours to Europe, including a training camp at the BIWPA Academy in Spain, combined with tournaments and matches against international clubs from Europe and around the world.

International Invitation-Only Tournaments

1. Boys and Girls Next Generation Cup 2024 tournament in Barcelona, Spain

(19yrs and younger - born 2005 or later)

"Next Gen Cup" is a youth "Champions League", invitation-only tournament that will gather Europe's top boys and girls youth teams. This is the best stage for the next generation of stars!

Emerging water polo talents from across Europe and the US come together to compete in what is likely one of the most high-level tournaments for the U19 category ever held.

The Stars of Tomorrow will take center stage from September 20 -22, in 2024 over the course of 3 action packed days

Featuring the best youth water polo teams from Spain, Hungary, Italy, France, Great Britain, Serbia, the United States, the Netherlands and Malta.

Elevate Water Polo will take an Elevate Invitational team to compete at this tournament.

Hosted by BIWPA and Club Natació Sabadell, and with the support of TotalWaterpolo as the Media & Data provider

What we offer Schools:

Water Polo Coaching and School program development

Elevate Water Polo provides a sustainable program for water polo coaches focussing on skills development both online and in-person. The integration of these two platforms provides the necessary foundation to upskill coaches and players both in and out the pool as an individual and also within the team environment.

The Development programme establishes a common language and understanding across all coaches in the school.

Provides complete coach development on the technical and tactical fundamentals of water polo.

Provides holistic coaching instruction to develop all-rounded coaches to handle all aspects of being a coach.

This approach avoids:

Key coach dependency- all the knowledge lies within 1 or 2 coaches (usually A-team).

The vacuum that is created when coaches leave the school.

Skills gap getting increasingly wider among coaches and educators (therefore also players)

Lack of trust/ belief in school programme from players/ parents, especially in lower teams
